Ingeborg Weiss Spencer, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015. She was born December 31, 1932, in Manheim, Germany. She was the German war bride of Warren Russell Spencer, to whom she was married for 64 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Darlene Couch, Warren Spencer Jr., and Luise Spencer; grandchildren, Shay Chauvin, Heidi Miller, Cody and Caleb Spencer; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Healing Garden Project, C/O the Veterans Administration Hospital Greenhouse, 1905 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, VA 24153.
A cryptside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
