Obituary of Juanita Conner Pugh

Juanita Conner Pugh 82 of Roanoke passed away Wednesday Afternoon surrounded by her loving family. Her parents Wilard J. and Virgie Conner preceded her. Mrs. Pugh was employed for 18 years with McKesson Drug Corp. before working for Roanoke Iron and Bridge Works for 10 years before retiring and joining her husband in the family business selling cars at the Kar Korral. She loved her family dearly and spending time with them, and in her free time she enjoyed sewing, making clothes for her family. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, William M. Pugh; two daughters, Debra Layman and husband Jon of Roanoke, Pamela Hatter and husband Matthew from Botetourt; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hatter; brothers, Howard Wesley Conner and wife Evelyn of Roanoke County, Jackson L. Conner and wife Louise of Copper Hill; sisters-in-law, Mary Board of Roanoke, and Kathryn Naff of Ohio. Along with a host of other family and friends. In Mrs. Pugh’s memory, memorials may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. A funeral service celebrating Mrs. Pugh’s life will be held 11:00am Saturday August 22, 2015 in Simpson Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Austin officiating. Interment will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Friday August 21, 2015 from 6:00-8;00pm at Simpson Funeral Home.
