Obituary of Dreama Horne Shelton

Dreama Horne Shelton 79 of Blue Ridge went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 16, 2015. Her father, Norman Harlan Horne, mother, Julia Ellen Hale Horne, and a brother, William Harlan Horne, preceded her. Left to cherish her memory are her four children and their spouses, Tanya and Mark Fanti, Mark and Jo Anne Shelton, John Shelton and Tamara and Larry Carper; nine grandchildren, Heather, Johnny Jr, Julia “Julie”, Kathyrn “Katie”, Nicholas, Rachel, Joshua, Micaiah, Hannah; great grandchildren, Mariah “Riah”, Ellowyn “baby girl”, Leatt “Le Le”, Trenton, Laegan “lae Lae”, and Cameron. Along with her six siblings, Doreene Cundiff, Joyce Goad, Ryland Horne, Sheldon and Mary Horne, Maynard and Georgie Horne, Gerald and Pat Horne, and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Our mother was born on November 26, 1935 in Salem, Virginia. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and always put our needs first before her own. She was a Nurse for Roger C. Grady for years before moving on to Physicians to Children where she enjoyed Nursing until she retired in 2011 at the age of 75. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice for all their caring and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to this wonderful organization in her memory. A funeral service celebrating Dreama's life will be held 2:00pm Saturday August 22, 2015 with Chaplain Andrew Purcell officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Union Cemetery intersection of Catawba Road (779) and Blacksburg Road (630). Family will receive friends Saturday August 22, 2015 before the service from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at the funeral home.
