Gene R. Ratliff, 70, of Roanoke peacefully went to be with Jesus, early Sunday morning at home with his wife, Darlene, holding his hand. He was predeceased by his parents, Clem and Essie Ratliff, his sister and brother-in-law, Freeda and Morris Phillips, and his brother, Clem Ratliff, Jr. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Darlene, his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Ron Houston; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Suzanne Ratliff, as well as his grandchildren, Neil and Samuel Houston, Scott Ratliff, and Ashton and Josiah Pas. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to North Roanoke Baptist Church 6402Peters Creek Road Roanoke, VA 24019 or to the Multiple System AtrophyCoalition 9935-D Rea Road, # 212 Charlotte, NC 28277 orwww.multiplesystematrophy.org <http://www.multiplesystematrophy.org>. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m.Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Dr. Darryl Crim.
