Donald J. Hannan, Sr. 95, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012. He was preceded by his wife, Hazel Hannan and a daughter, Sue Ellen Wagner. Mr. Hannan, Sr. served proudly in the United States Navy during WWII, Asian-Pacific Theater in the Seabees. He retired after 37 years of service at TRW Valve. He was a volunteer with over 25 years of service at Stoney Glen Camp. Surviving are his son, Donald J. Hannan II, and his wife, Ellen of Roanoke; daughter Linda Zieger and husband Thomas of Cape Charels, Va., six grandsons and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a tax deductible donation be made to the Stoney Glen Camp, 5300 W. Loveland Rd, Madison, Ohio, 44057 in his name. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Simpson Funeral Home. A service celebrating Mr. Hannan, Sr's life will be held 2 pm Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the funeral home with Dr. Charles Peterson officiating. Interment will be held in Ohio at a later date.
