Obituary of Emma McPeak Foutz

FOUTZ, EMMA MCPEAK Emma McPeak Foutz, age 92, of Roanoke died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents, C. W. McPeak and Laura Emmazetta Gallimore McPeak, 10 sisters, 2 brothers, and her husband of 53 years, Charles L. “Pete” Foutz. She drove a school bus for the Roanoke County and Salem School systems. Emma resided at Our Lady of the Valley for the last two years and eight months. The family would like to thank the staff for all the love and care that was given to Emma during this time. She is survived by three children, Charles L. Foutz, Jr. and wife Mary, Salem; Patricia F. VonPloennies, and husband Robert, Vinton ; and Mark D. Foutz of Wilmington, N. C.; grandson, Aaron M. Foutz, Wilmington, N. C. ; and step-granddaughter, Robin D. VonPloennies, Roanoke. A graveside service will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road, N. W., Roanoke, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jim Rivers, of First Christian Church, Roanoke, where Emma was a long-time member and Sunday school teacher. “In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Christian Church, 344 Church Avenue, S. W., Roanoke, VA 24016, in Emma Foutz's memory.”
