Obituary of Patricia Wright Camper

Patricia W. “Patsy” Camper, 75, of Troutville, passed away, Saturday, July 18, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Gainor Duvall. Patricia was the wife of Bobby Camper of 43 years, and a lifelong member and deacon of Troutville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by Blanche Slaydon, Earl Wright, and Ruth Eimers. Left to cherish her memory are Brian L. Camper (Son), and wife Jessica Dorsey Camper, Cody Wilkins Camper (Grandson), Reagan Jean Dorsey and Kennedy Elizabeth Dorsey (Granddaughters). Nell Abbott (Sister) and the late Wiley Abbott, and Cameron Abbott (Nephew). Brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Tubby Camper and family; Sammy and Joyce Camper, and family; Kerry and June Camper, and family; Boyd and Peggy Shaver, and family, Betsy Camper and family. She attended Radford University and received a Master’s degree from the University of Virginia. She taught for 35 years in the Roanoke City School District, where she gained the friendships of special ladies, Chris Arnold, Verna Brumfield, Carlin Hounshell, Vickie Rowe, Ethel Lamanca and many others. A special thanks to everyone who touched her heart throughout her journey with cancer at Blue Ridge Cancer Center, as well as numerous friends to long to mention. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials be made to Troutville Baptist Church’s Building Fund. A service to celebrate Patsy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Troutville Baptist Church with Pastor Carol Johnston officiating.
