Obituary of Andrea Theresa Simmons

Andrea Theresa "Tina" Simmons 71 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Saturday July 4, 2015. She was preceded by her parents, Richard and Hallie Brown, a son, Terry Lehrer, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and David Pollikof. A very loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend she will be dearly missed by all. Left to cherish her memory are her loving and caring husband, Alton Simmons; three sons, Rick Lehrer of Roanoke, Todd Lehrer of Chatham, Louie Baublitz and Jessica of Roanoke; step daughter, Michelle DeBergh; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Amy, Heather, Olivia, Joseph, Whitney, and Todd; two great grandchildren, Kylie and Kaylee; sisters-in-law, Trish Simmons, Kathy Simmons, Belva Forbes; brothers-in-law, Dalton Simmons, Clyde Simmons, Eddie Simmons; niece, Ellie Lockard; her four legged friend, "Curly". Along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Marc Swanson, a special nurse, Stephanie Smith, caregiver, Angel Bailey and the staff at Heartland Hospice for all their care and support they gave to Mrs. Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your local ASPCA in her memory. As per Mrs. Simmons’s wish, a memorial service celebrating her life will be held 2:00pm Monday July 6, 2015 in Simpson Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Patterson officiating. Friends may visit with the family an hour before the service on Monday from 1:00pm till service time.
