Jean A. Bourne, 78, of Daleville went to be with her Heavenly Father Sunday, June 21, 2015. She was a 1958 graduate of the Roanoke Memorial School of Nursing where she practiced nursing for most of her career. She later served as director of nursing at two nursing homes, and then served as Director of Home Health in Botetourt County. She was predeceased by her parents, William Davis and Mildred Powell Anderson, and a niece, Jennifer Pendleton. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Lewis F. Bourne; daughter, Donna Bourne Kenkel (James); son, David Bourne; grandchildren, Taylor, Matthew, and Hannah Kenkel; and Emily and Caroline Bourne; brother, William D. (Bill) Anderson (Shirley); and two nephews, Jeff and Dave Anderson. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund C/O St. Mark's United Methodist Church 19 Cedar Ridge Drive Daleville, Va. 24083. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at St. Marks United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rob Lough. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
