Betty Gearhart Dean Prilipp 77 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 23, 2012. She was preceded by her husband, Ralph Dean, parents, Raymond and Versie Vest Gearhart, daughter, Joan Collins, granddaughter, Lisa Flinchum, brother, Jimmy Gearhart, Mrs. Prilipp was a lifetime member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Salem, and retired from the Eaton Corp. and Lewis Gale Hospital after many years of service. She also was a past president of the D.A.V. and the American Legion, chaplain of the D.A.V.A., sergeant at arms of the Woodmen of the World and a member of the Amvets, VFW, Women of the Moose and the City of Salem Seniors Singers and volunteered her time and the Salem Veterans Hospital. Surviving are her loving husband of 10 years, Herman Prilipp; daughter, Gwen Richardson and husband, Barry; grandchildren, a devoted and loving grandson, Jason Wills and girlfriend, Maria Anaya; Scott Douglas and wife Zshawn, Michael Douglas, Matt Douglas, Wes Richardson and wife Dawn, Jamie Goldberg; great grandchildren, Joan Epperly and husband William, Christina, Danielle, Alexis, Katie, Austin, Keaira, Trai, Kennedy and Camden; great great grandchild, Mackenzie; step grandchildren, Darlene Goldberg and husband David, Keith Prilipp and wife Renee, John Prilipp and wife Ping; sister, Wanda Spradlin; brother, Wayne Gearhart; special niece Mellissa Puckett and husband Andrew and their son Logan along with numerous special friends who loved her dearly, other family members and her grand pup, Puffette. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and a special thank you to Dr. Nadeem Khuri for giving us those extra 13 months to spend with her, Lewis Gale SICU Nurses, Jenifer, Tom, Brittney, Eddie and Nick. A service celebrating Betty's life will be held 2:30 Friday, April 27, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor John Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-5:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the funeral Home. Arrangements handled by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366-0707.
