Margaret Kardos Grant, 91, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 31, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Julia Kardos, husband Harold Grant, brothers, Steve and John Kardos, sisters, Julia Corse, Irene Childers and Gladys Thurman, and niece Angela Hughes. Margaret was a member of Roanoke Valley Baptist Temple.Surviving are her niece, Charlotte Taylor and husband Jim; nephews, Johnny Kardos and wife Joyce, Douglas Thurman and wife Brenda, Jeff Thurman and wife Diane; great nephews, Brent Thurman, Timothy Thurman and Steven Kardos; and great niece, Rebekah Thurman. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of the Valley, and to Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their many acts of kindness and support. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial gifts may be made to Roanoke Valley Baptist Temple 2611 10th Street Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Terry Mabry. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
