Claude E. Baker, 85, of Troutville went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 30, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie George and Blanche Burger Baker and numerous brothers and sisters.
Claude retired as a car man after 42 years of service with Norfolk Southern Corporation.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Barbara Hughes Baker; daughter, Claudette Martin and husband Steven of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; son, Kevin Baker and wife Tammy of Troutville; grandchildren, Samantha Martin, Christine Rollins and husband Michael, Erica Schurdell and husband Allen; great grandchildren, Alexis and Dylan Murphy; sister, Dottie King; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Baker, Margaret Hammond, and Geraldine Morris and husband Carl.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Troutville Lifesaving Crew 20 Sunset Avenue Troutville, Va. 24175
A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in Trinity Cemetery, Botetourt County by Pastor Joe Klotz. There will be no visitation.
