Kathy Fisher Lisle, 62, of Roanoke passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle K. and Ada C. Fisher. Kathy was a graduate of Northside High School and Radford College. She retired as a special education teacher with the Roanoke County School System. She was a member of Melrose Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, James R. Lisle; children, Jeremy Lisle and wife Denise; Kara Battel and husband Chris; Jaime Lisle; Kelsey Higginbotham and husband Joseph; Jarron Lisle; grandchildren, Taylor Lisle, Ella and Fisher Battel, Jase Lisle, Zoiee Williams, Sayler Lisle, Katelyn Higginbotham, Elsey Battel, Jax Lisle, Adelia Higginbotham, Tucker and Rieley Lisle; brother, David Fisher and wife Debbie. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Special Olympics. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Roanoke's Carvin's Cove and the staff at Woodhaven Nursing Home for their many acts of kindness and support. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Melrose Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
