Helen U. Graham, 86, of Buchanan, formerly of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 21, 2012. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by a loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy L. and Louise Underwood, brothers, Guy L. (Sonny), Buddy, and James L. (Jimmy) Underwood, and sisters, Margaret Goad, Betty Meyers, and Patty (PK) Ross. Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years, Earl E. Graham, Jr.; daughters, Vickie Graham McCorkle (Jack); Kathy Graham Sullivan (Bill); son, Roger Blakemore Graham (Stephanie); grandchilden, Brittan Hewitt (Michael); Graham Bowen Turner, Kathleen Greer Sullivan, Amber Graham Lundquist (Chip) and Jacob N. Graham (Eleanor); great granddaughter, Jewell Christina Hewitt and many nieces and nephews. Her battle over, the Victory won we celebrate the transition of Helen to eternal life. A special thanks to the caregivers from Gentiva, and the wonderful staff of Good Samaritan Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Dr. John Furman. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
