Obituary of Joann Hale Walthall
Joann Walker Walthall, 91, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Thursday July 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her first husband James "Jim" Walker; second husband Steven Randolph Walthall; son, Gregory Walker; daughter, Brenda Via; step daughter, Charlotte Harris; and a great grandson, Nathan Rice.
Joann was a graduate of 'Narrows County High School and worked for many years as an LPN.,
Surviving are her sons, Clifton "Cliff" Walker, and Stefon Walker; grandchildren, Angela (Anthony) Lovern, Aaron Walker, Nathan Via, Dreama Regula, Alisha Marody, Alyssa Walker; numerous great grandchildren, brother, Robert "Bobby" (Evelyn) Hale; step children, Doris (Dennis) Wright, Wanda (E.G.) Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 540-366-0707
