Obituary of Sonjia Kaye Rodgers
Sonjia Kaye Rodgers, 78, wife of Mike Rodgers, Sr., went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2022. She was born in Rhode Island and was the daughter of the late Vincent R. Lord and the late Eva M. Doss Lord. She was also preceded in death by a son, David W. Williams and a brother, Rowland Lord.
Sonjia was a veteran of the United States Air Force and later worked in retail sales. She was a member of Harvest Ministries Church.
In addition to her husband and companion of 30 years, she will be missed and remembered by her children, Terri L. Snyder (Ronnie), Bryan P. Williams, Clifton R. Williams (Heather); grandchildren, Kara M. Callahan (Tyler), Sarah E. Woody (Russell), Aaron Williams, Joshua Williams and Grayson Rodgers; great-grandson, Ransom Callahan; sister, Avis Berube; niece, Keri K. Berube; as well as many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road with Pastor Milton Atkins and Clifton Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
