Obituary of Elwood E. Brammer
Elwood E. Brammer, 88, widower of Cheryle Franklin Brammer, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Cary, NC. He was born in West Virginia and was the son of the late Henry E. Brammer and the late Texie O. Dobbins.
Elwood spent his career in computer programming, and could point to the computer at the Smithsonian on which he wrote his first code. He retired from Roanoke-based Dominion Bank in 1998. He played piano and had a beautiful tenor voice. He enjoyed woodworking and crafts, traveling and photography, games, cards and his many friends over the years.
He will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Laurie B. Mahoney and her husband Jeff; son, Timothy Brammer and his wife Kimberly; his grandsons Mason and Jamie; and his cousin Henry Ray Dransfield.
Elwood will be entombed beside his wife in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony.
