Kathryn Caldwell Johnson 88 of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 12, 2014. She was a longtime member of North Roanoke Baptist Church, and she retired as an administrative assistant with Hollins University. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Oscar L. and Ethel Harris Caldwell, sisters, Dorothy Dean Caldwell, Hassie Caldwell and Janie Caldwell Carr, brother Vivian T. Caldwell and daughter Jill Johnson Moore. Kathryn was a member of the Rokeva Womens Club and a longtime member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Brent M. Johnson and wife Lori; grandchildren, Evan Johnson, Layne Johnson, Kate Moore and Taylor Moore; great grandchildren, Cooper, Camryn, and Connor Johnson; nieces, Diane Hilborn and Carol Haley; great niece, Stephanie Davidson; and great nephews, Kevin Hilborn and Jason Petty. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road Roanoke, Va. 24018 or to the Alzheimer's Association 1160 Pepsi Place Suite 306 Charlottesville, Va. 22901. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Dr. Darryl G. Crim. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
