Obituary of Doris May

Doris N. May 81 of Roanoke passed away Monday February 24, 2014. She was preceded by her husband, James "Jim" O'Neill, and her parents, Helen T. Hotinger and Ernest F. Nuckols. Doris retired after many years of service as a Medical Clerk with the Veterans Hospital, afterwards she worked several years at Catawba Hospital, and finished up her working career as a receptionist for WDBJ7. Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and co-worker. She will be dearly missed. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Robert May of Herndon; daughters, Lisa Milliron and Ann Trigg of Vinton along with their husband's Tim Milliron and Neil Trigg, Sheila Cooke of Newport News and her husband John Cooke; grandchildren, Derek Milliron, Collin Trigg, and Maggie Cooke; along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Trish Caldwell and all the neighbors who helped look after their mom and your friend. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either the ASPCA or the American Diabetes Association in her name. A memorial service celebrating Ms. May's life will be held 2:00p Saturday March 1, 2014 in Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00p till service time at the funeral home Saturday March 1, 2014.
