Margaret E. Nye, 84, of Roanoke passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ellen Gittins Fisk, husband Horace U. Nye and a brother, Fredrick Fisk. Surviving are her daughters, Karen McCormick and husband Burnard of England; Sarah File of Roanoke; step daughter, Josephine Mescalado and husband Dan of Plainfield, New Jersey; sons, David Berry and wife Karen of Bisbee, Arizona; Fredrick Nye and wife Susan of Brentwood, New York; step son, Richard Nye and wife Nancy of Valrico, Florida; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the SPCA or to a charity of the donors choice. A graveside service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014 in Calverton National Cemetery Calverton, New York. There will be no visitation.
