Robert Howard "Bob" Adams, Sr. 71 of Roanoke passed awayThursday, January 30, 2014. Mr. Adams served in the U S Army and retired from Branch Highways. Surviving are his wife, Edna Adams; sons, Dennis Adams and wife Sandra of Roanoke; Robert (Bobby) Adams, Jr. and wife Christy of Flat Rock, NC; Darrin Adams and wife Theresa of Candler, N.C.; father, Charles Conner of Eastman, Georgia; grandchldren, Cindy, Tonya, Christina, Tyler, Riley and Ross Adams; great grandchild, Jazmine Adams; brother, Cecil Conner of Boca Raton, Florida; sisters, Charlene Thompson and Virginia Pohl both of Eastman, Georgia; sisters in law, Mary Willey of Centerville, Va and Betty Gillespie of Alderson, West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend and caregiver, Wanda Wyrick of Roanoke. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice 6045 Peters Creek Road Roanoke, Va. 24019. A graveside service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Olander English. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
