Jeffrey Allan Douglas Bailey, 59 of Roanoke passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 25, 2014 at his home. He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on July 2, 1954. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a BS degree in Engineering. He also earned an MA in Theology and Ministry at Life Christian University. His passions were woodworking and working in the ministry of Valley Word Church. Jeff was employed as a Civil Engineer with Roanoke County for 23 years. Surviving are his wife of forty years, Mary Orletta Bailey; daughter, Jennifer Orletta Bailey and husband, Steven Morris; son, Jonathan Allan Douglas Bailey; parents, J.A. Douglas and Sandra Bailey; siblings, Christie Walden, Randy Bailey, Sheri Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Children's Ministry at Valley Word Church 1928 Loch Haven Drive Roanoke, Virginia 24019.
