"Bea" After 100 years of life on this earth, Beatrice "Bea" Noel Smith, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2013 and will spend eternity in heaven. She was born February 24, 1913 in Clifton Forge, VA to Lemmie and Jessie Noel. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Herman "H" Smith, her sister Ann Noel Phillips, as well as her sons Jerry and Don Smith. The family business, Automotive Paint and Supply Company, was founded by Bea and H in the basement of their home in 1950. Bea was the secretary for 26 years. She was a "numbers lady". Even at 100 years old, she could recite the dates that she met and married the love of her life, H, as well as all family birthdates. Her passions were shopping, going dancing with H on Saturday nights and watching sports on TV. Bea will be greatly missed by her nephew Karl Phillips, niece Pam Phillips Gallman, daughter-in-law Carol Ann Smith, grandchildren Kim(David) Wirt, Jay(Amy) Smith, Jennifer Smith Corby, Kevin(Jean) Faulkner, Mandy Smith Howard and Camy Smith along with 11 great grandchildren. The family would also like to thank Iris McDonald for being Bea's caretaker for 2 years. A funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be Friday, December 13, 2013, 1:00PM at Simpson Funeral Home and burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grandin Court Baptist Church, 2660 Brambleton Avenue, SW, Roanoke, VA 24015.
