George A. (Al) Furrow, 86 of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnis and Dollie Furrow, a daughter, Patricia Zane Furrow and a brother, Dooner Furrow. Mr. Furrow served in the U S Army during World War II and retired from Collegiate Pacific. Surviving are his son, Michael D. Furrow and wife Kim; daughter, Ruth Ann Mann and husband Barry; grandchildren, Ashley Furrow and Chase Furrow, all of Vinton. Long time friends Marietta Meador and Susie Poff. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road with the Rev. Steve Parker officiating.
