Obituary of James Ridgeway

James (Jim) Percy Ridgeway 86 of Roanoke passed away Tuesday November 5, 2013. He was preceded by his loving wife, Helen; parents, Joseph and Illa Ridgway; sisters, Catheline R. Booth, Rachel R. Pollard; brothers, Joseph E. William W. and LG; a nephew, Ferris Booth.
Mr. Ridgeway proudly served and retired as Commander from the United States Navy after 31 years of service to his country he loved so much, during WWII, Korean and the Vietnam wars.
Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Eleanor M. Ridgway, Virginia R. Ridgway; one nephew, three grandnephews; and one grandniece; also left to cherish his memory are his caregiver and friend, Deanna Tembo and husband Fredrick; "grandchildren" Aiden and Magenta.
Inurnment will be held at a later date with Military Honors in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends may send their condolences to the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366-0707.
