Nettie Louise (Corky) Crockett Cox 83 of Roanoke, born February 7, 1930 passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013. She was preceded by her parents, Ronald and Nora Rosenbaum Crockett; brother, Charles Franklin Crockett; and a sister, Helen C. Spain. She is survived by her loving daughters, Rhonda Cox Adwell and husband John of Catawba, Pastor Tina R. Cox, who was also her caregiver; one grandson, Ronald Lee Pack, who was the light of her life and his wife Annabel Cobb Pack of Grand Forks Air Force Base, North Dakota; sister, Shirley Sawyers and husband Buford; brother, Ronald Crockett and wife Carol; sister, Geneva Goode Kincer and husband Tom; a dear and special cousin, Dorothy Newcomb of New York, and her faithful "granddog", Sassy. The family will have a gathering of friends from 2:00-4:00pm on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home. As per her request, a graveside service will be held after the family reunion on August 10, 2014 in the Crockett Cemetery, Cripple Creek, Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or your local food pantry.
