My brother Bobby and I were headed to MD Anderson so he could have a CT Scan in Spring of 2011. We had the unexpected pleasure of sitting next to Karen & Michael Jenks in the waiting area as they were there too for a CT Scan. Michael was just smiling away while Karen shared their story with us. We both could tell he loved her so much and enjoyed watching her chat with others. We really enjoyed talking and making friends with them both and had the pleasure of praying together in the middle of the waiting area. We exchanged phone numbers and made friends on Facebook so we could keep in touch through the miles. There were a few times Karen and I spoke on the phone trying to encourage each other as the main care takers of our loved ones. On one of there many trips back to Houston we again made contact and went to their apartment and took them out for some Texas BBQ. We enjoyed each others company and shared many laughs that we will treasure forever. We also had the privilege of meeting a few of their children in the MD Anderson Surgical waiting area where Michael was having a major procedure. It was such a pleasure to meet the family of Michael and Karen there. It's crazy to think we met under those circumstances so far away from all their homes but our hearts connected and we appreciate that we had that opportunity. We are so glad we had the chance to meet Michael and we celebrate his life and know that he is dancing totally healed on the streets of gold and seeing the glory of our Heavenly Father.
