Obituary of Mary Ann Woody

Mary Ann Patterson Woody 85 of Sontag, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 5, 1928 to her parents, the late Mary Annie Fralin and J. E. Patterson. Mrs. Woody taught Home Economics for 28 years, 4 years in Bedford County and the last 24 years at the Franklin County High School. She is a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was for many years. A loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and friend will be dearly missed and forever in their hearts. Surviving are he loving and devoted husband of 55 years, John Preston Woody; one daughter, Frances Ann Woody; two sons, John Albert Woody and Tony Edward Woody; three sisters, Emily P. McCraw, Frances P. Nix, Evelyn P. Dowdy; one brother, Robert "Eddy" Patterson all of Franklin County. Along with her church family and dear friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Amedisys Hospice for all their care and support during this time. In lieu of flowers or food, memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 4220 Sontag Road, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151 in her memory. Friends may visit with the family Friday, September 13, 2013 from 4:00-7:00pm at Beulah Baptist Church, 4220 Sontag Road, Rocky Mount. As per Mrs. Woody's wishes there will be no funeral service, just a gathering of friends.
