Obituary of Edward Lee Whisnant

Eddie Whisnant passed away peacefully after a Legendary Ride. Eddie was one of a kind. He was genuine and had a heart of gold.

He loved music, riding his Harley with family and friends, watching football, Texas Tavern, fishing at Holden Beach with kids and grandkids, but most of all Eddie loved his family, and everyone that knew him, loved him. Family and friends take comfort knowing Eddie’s Legendary Ride is not over and that Eddie’s spirit we love will live on in all of us. Because the road goes on forever, so we’ll see you on the other side.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Evelyn Whisnant; sister, Sharon Whisnant. He is survived by sisters, Rhonda Gibson and husband Johnny, and Angela Spradlin and husband Wayne; brother, Barry Whisnant; children, Shane Whisnant and wife Amanda, Paige Whisnant and fiancé Tommy, Travis Whisnant and wife Paige, Steele Whisnant and fiancé Jill, and Ashlee Spangler and husband Matt; 15 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids.

Services will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 12:30 at Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Simpson Funeral Home. Interment will be private. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home (540)366-0707
