Obituary of Darlene Gallimore

Darlene O. Gallimore 73 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was preceded by her parents, Hebron and Louise O'dell. Mrs. Gallimore was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church for many years. She retired after many years of service as a Secretary at Northside Middle School. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend she will be dearly missed by all. Surviving are her loving and caring husband of 55 years, Gordon Gallimore, Sr.; three sons, Gordon Gallimore, Jr., of S.C., Sam Gallimore of N.C., Gary Gallimore and wife Sandra of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Allison Key and husband Jeff of S.C., Jesse Gallimore, Josh Gallimore and wife Tara, Matthew Gallimore and Christopher Gallimore all of Roanoke; two great grandchildren, Jackson Gallimore, Ava Key; two sisters, Loretta Ferris, Jean Cox both of Pulaski. Along with a many other relatives and dear friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice, family and friends for all their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice in Mrs. Gallimore's memory. A funeral service celebrating Mrs. Gallimore's life will be held 11:00am Friday August 30, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastors Billy Booth, Frankie Graham, Terry Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Thursday August 29, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
