I was a good friend of Fred's in high school at Valley Central. Very sorry to hear of his passing. Fred and I and others shared some good times together. We lost touch over the years. My deepest sympathy. Jan Cheripko

Emily, Laura and Tom--I just heard of Freds passing today. I am very sad and my heart goes out to you. Fred was a dear friend and the person who gave me my first job. The good ole Lawnmark days. I will forever cherish our memories and will always be thankful for Fred and all he taught me about turf and life. Fred may God rest your soul. Laura and Tom may God bless you and touch base with me and please know your Dad was a dear friend and a great guy!We shared a lot of laughs and fertilized a lot of turf together. My sincere thanks to Emily for her great kindness in contacting me to tell me of this. Great sorrow for his his children of whom he was justly proud. When I knew Fred best we were very young. I recall his passion for his University (WVU) sports teams, all New York teams, and that he was extremely active and liked the outdoors best. If there is a Rainbow Bridge (I pray so) his college dog Brown Bear was there to greet him. Also Belle, his Roanoke dog. Maybe Boo Boo, the gray cat. Thoughts are with Emily and his children.
