Emma Kate Francisco, 101, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2013. She was preceded by her husband James A. Francisco, her parents, David and Valeria Jessee Mays, and her brothers and sisters. She had worked as a Registered Nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salem, retiring in 1977. Kate was a longtime member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church and the Philathia Sunday School Class. Surviving are her sons, James D. "Jim" Francisco, Michael T. "Mike" Francisco and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Benjamin and Elizabeth Francisco, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved granddog, Bayly. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Huntington Court United Methodist Church 3333 Williamson Road Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Huntington Court United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeff Wilson. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
