Obituary of Frances McCann

Frances Dyer McCann, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. She was born in Roanoke County and the only child of the late Harry Burton and Addie C. Dyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. McCann and daughter, Carol Leigh McCann McGeorge.
She was a member of Northview United Methodist Church, the Carrie Lee Chapter # 108 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Grand Guardian Council of Virginia, International Order of Jobs Daughters, serving that order as Grand Guardian of the Commonwealth of Virginia from 1970-71. She also served as State Secretary for 12 years for the Virginia Security Association, Inc.
Surviving are her daughter, Kaye Dyer McCann Bradley and husband, William "Bill" Bradley; grandchildren, Angela M. Booth and husband, Brian. LeBaron Moseley III and Matthew O. McGeorge; great-grandchildren, Carolyn A. Moseley and Hunter T. Moseley; former son-in-law, Kenneth O. McGeorge, wife Gayle and his son, Christopher O. McGeorge; and her loving kitty companion, K.C.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by Pastor Joe Klotz. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Simpson Funeral Home, 366-0707.
