Obituary of Sheridan Burnett

Sheridan (Sharon) Barnett Burnett 64 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 30, 2013. She was preceded by her parents, William and Ruth Monk and a dear friend, Kathy Loving. Mrs. Burnett, for past 26 years enjoyed driving a school bus for the Roanoke City School system. Sharon was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and all love her dearly and will be greatly missed. Surviving are her husband, Jamie Burnett; daughter, Mary Forrester and husband, Gary; son, Henry "Bucky" Barnett, Jr.; the light of her life granddaughter, Tori Atkinson and husband Adam, granddaughter, Carrie Bryant; ex-husband and friend, Henry E. Barnett, Sr.; a close friend, Margaret Acheson, along with her canine companions, Chandi and Max and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Flowers may be sent or memorials in her memory to the Roanoke SPCA. A funeral service celebrating Sharon's life will be held 2:00pm Friday, August 2, 2013 in Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Cole Keister officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-9:00pm at the funeral Home.
