Reva Madine Carter Kesling of Salem, Virginia, daughter of the late Reverend W.W. Carter and Ruby Cates Carter, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband Garth L. Kesling and her sister, Frances L. Carter. She is survived by her sister, June Carter Canavesio (Elvio), and sister-in-laws Ina Wheeler and Katherine Buchanan. She is survived by her daughter Sherry Humphrey (Bill), her sons Lenny Kesling (Marianne) and Chaplain (MAJ) Terry Kesling (Pam); grandchildren, Dan Kinnison (Tammy), Tara Kesling, Matt Kesling, Katie Weeks (Jason), Victoria Presley (Micah), Stephanie Flowers (Solon), and granddaughter Kerry Kinnison and great-grandaughter Mary Polansky, who resided with her. She is also survived by step- grandchildren, Kim Taylor, Lora York, Adam Kesling; 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of New Life Christian Ministries in Roanoke. She worked as a legal secretary for many years while living in Cleveland, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at Simpson Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services to be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Walter Lee Wood officiating. A graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park immediately after the service.
