Emma Jane Hartman Locklear, 77 of Roanoke (known to many as "Miss Jane") went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. "Miss Jane" was a mother to many during the 21 years she worked at Virginia Hair Academy. Her soft heart and nurturing ways made her easy to know and love. She loved her flower garden where she spent quiet time with her Lord. She was an active member of Bonsack Baptist Church and an employee of Simpson Funeral Home. Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Linwood Locklear, daughter, Robin L. Bryant and husband Stuart; son, Craig Locklear and wife Anna; and daughter Terri L. Mayhew and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Melissa L. Waller and husband Craig; Philip Locklear and Moriah Mayhew; great grandson, Atticus Waller; brother, Wayne Hartman and wife Rhonda; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Bonsack Baptist Church 4845 Cloverdale Road Roanoke, Va. 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Dr. Robert Moore. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday June 2, 2013 in the Forsyth Memorial Park, Winston-Salem, N.C. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home. 540- 366-0707
