Romayne Ruth Shelp Tapper, 84, formerly of Brooklyn, PA passed away Monday May 6, 2013 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Elliot Tapper. Mrs Tapper had been a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church and Providence United Methodist Church. In addition to her church membership she was also a member of the Red Hat Society in Brooklyn. Surviving are her children John T. Tapper and wife Valerie of Conway, SC; Tina Tapper-Stepniak of Roanoke; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a God daughter, Trudy Christiano of Scranton, Pa. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donors honor Romayne's love of animals by making a donation to a charity that cares for animals. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Brooklyn United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Phillip Richardson.
