Betty Paulin Grubb 83 of Vinton lost her battle with dementia on Friday, March 29, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bertha Jutt Paulin, brothers, Raymond, Edward and Lawrence Paulin and a grandson, James Miller. Surviving are her children, Jayne G. Ragland of Salem; Terry C. Grubb and wife Mary Beth of Jacksonville, Fla.; Joan Marie Williams and husband Phil of Stafford; Belinda Lamoreaux and husband Mel of Tipp City, Ohio; and Lori A. Grubb also of Tipp City, Ohio; grandchildren, Scott Hampton and wife Amy; Heather Wishin and husband Jackson; Justin Paslawski; devoted and special friend, James Saunders; sister, Doris Adams of Jacksonville, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Springtree Health and Rehab Center, and the staff at Carilion Hospice for their many acts of kindness and compassion during their mother's illness. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Amy Hampton. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707.
