Sarah Martha Smith, 97, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away peacefully on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013.
She was born on September 9, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Smith; and her devoted husband, Edward Smith. Sarah was a loving wife & mother; she enjoyed music, gardening and was a fantastic cook.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Smith & wife Betty; her daughter, Robynn Onyett & husband, Jon; three grandchildren, Erik & Lyndsey Onyett and Amy Palmer; 2 great-grandchildren, Lillian Onyett & Micah Palmer.
The family offers their deep & abiding thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and the staff at Emeritus Memory Care.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to Gentle Shepherd Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, Roanoke, VA. with Pastor Josh Robinson officiating.
