Dora Wiley Vess Campbell 85 of Montvale (formerly of Buchanan) made her final trip, this trip being to heaven on Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lacy C. Vess, Sr. and Lewis Campbell. In addition to her husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents Kent and Fannie Newcomb, sisters, Juanita "Sis" Wolfe and Annie Harlow and a step son, Steve Campbell. Mrs. Campbell retired from the North Star Restaurant in Buchanan. She was a member of Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her sons, Lacy C. Vess, Jr and wife Sue of Chesapeake; Sidney L. Vess and wife Nancy of Fincastle; daughter, Gloria A. Letchford and husband Russell of Montvale; step children, Sheryl Robertson and husband Danny of Roanoke; Kevin Campbell of Tennessee; and Darla Mann and husband Todd. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev Glenn Stevens. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
