Obituary of Beulah Kessler

Beulah Shay Kessler, 84, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013. She joins her beloved husband, Randolph Kessler who passed away November 4, 2013. Beulah was a retired LPN from Carilion Gill Memorial and was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. She and Randolph were married for 62 years. She was born on January 7, 1929, the oldest daughter of the late Bage and Chrissie Shay of Botetourt County. She was predeceased by her youngest sister, Katie Hambrick McDaniel. She is survived by her sister, Lou Flint. Those left to cherish her memory are her son Michael (Nancy) Kessler and her daughter, Norma (John) Daugherty. She was a loving and devoted grandmother and is survived by her grandchildren, Jimmy Kessler, Ashley (Nic) Leonard, Dylan Goff and Miranda Goff. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Allyson, Olivia and Johnathon Kessler. Although her family feels the painful loss of Beulah, they take comfort that she is reunited with her beloved Randolph who she always described as her soul mate and best friend. Her family is blessed with wonderful memories. Funeral services will be held at Simpson Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. by Pastor Scotty Carpenter. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery in Botetourt County. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 18 at Simpson Funeral Home 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to Oakland Baptist Church, 3623 Roundhill Avenue, Roanoke VA 24012.
