Obituary of Russell Bach

On Friday, March 8, 2013, Russell Austinn Bach Sr. of Salem, passed away suddenly. He was born on September 11, 1929. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Bach, his mother, Dorothy Catherine Hannah Bach, and his sister, Marie Bach Hogan. Russell is survived by Anne S. Bach, his loving wife of almost 59 years, two sons; Russell Austinn Bach Jr. and his wife Linda Bach, John Marcus Bach and his wife Lauri Bach, two daughters; Angela Michelle Bach and Donna Sizemore Crisco, a brother- in- law, Walter James Hogan and special cousin, Carrie Chittum. He lives on in his ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren Lindsay Bach, Victoria Bach, Renee Bach, April Bach, Glendon Bach, Zachary Bach, Eileen Bach, Dennis Bach, Gwyneth Sholar, Devyn Crisco, Kaylee Bach, and Selah Bach. Russell grew up in Roanoke, and attended Bluefield College and Virginia Tech. He worked for Rish and Arundel Corp. He was a long time member of West End Presbyterian Church, a dedicated elder in the Presbyterian Church, and current member of Salem Presbyterian Church. He also served our country proudly as a medic and paratrooper during the Korean War. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Salem Presbyterian Church building fund or to Serving His Children, PO Box 285, Moneta, VA 24121. A memorial service celebrating Russell's life will be 3:00pm, Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Salem Presbyterian Church.
