Nancy Thomas Starkey, 64, of Catawba, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Ashly M. and Helen Stephenson Thomas. Graduate of NHS and attended Virginia Western Community College. She worked for Carilion Clinic at Daleville Family Practice, and was a member of the Catawba Valley Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry G. Starkey; son, Thomas "TJ" Starkey; grandchild, Gavin Starkey; sisters-in-law, Pat Starkey and Brenda Starkey; special friends, Harold and Millie Wingate. In lieu of flowers, she would like memorials to go to the Youth Fund at Catawba Valley Baptist Church PO Box 12 Catawba, Virginia 24070. The family will receive friends, Friday, March 8, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.at Simpson Funeral Home. A memorial service celebrating Mrs. Starkey's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 with Dr. Allen Mason officiating at Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.
