Virginia Dunmon Axelsen, 92, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 27, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Lucy Minnix Dunmon and her twelve siblings. Surviving are her husband, James E. "Jim" Axelsen; sons, Robert Linkenhoker and Shirley, Frank Linkenhoker and wife Patricia, Howard Lewis and wife Sandy, all of Roanoke; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; daughters in law, Sallie Riddings and Donna Toney. A special thank you to Carolyn and D. J. Andes as well as the staff at Friendship Health and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11 :30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Ron Porter. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
