Carolee King Pearson, 88, of Roanoke, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 14, 2013. Carolee was born June 25, 1924. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin King; mother, Mable King Mumford; and stepfather, Henry Mumford. Also preceding Carolee are her son, Dale Logan; and husband, Paul Pearson. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Scott and husband, Johnny, of Callaway; grandchildren, Brian, of Roanoke, Zak and wife, Sonja, of Glen Allen, Charles, of Roanoke; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Isis, Alex and Clay. Carolee was a member of South View United Methodist Church where she was an 11-year member of the Sonshine Gang, an outreach ministry designed to serve the retired community. She was the "Susie" of the Gang. Carolee was also a member of the Eastern Star, Electa Chapter #33. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road in Roanoke with the Pastor Larry Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
