I have only recently gotten to know Mrs. Pearson through my work with her in her home health physical therapy. I remember my first day to her home how she proudly showed me her extensive collection of button hooks. I was in awe as I had never quite seen a collection like that. She went on to show me her handpainted plates, saucers and other areas of needlepoint she had worked diligently on over the years. To say she was an artist would be modest. There was such fine detail in her works! She also loved to brag and tell stories of her children, and gradchildren. It was obvious as to how much she loved them and continued to treasure stories of the past. She would remind me, as a mother of small children, to not worry about the housework, or the little things but to have fun with my my kids while they were young.
I was sent there to help her...but I believe her joyful spirit and love of life really ended up helping me more (even though she called me drill sargent). She will be missed.
