Obituary of Bee Hamilton

Bee Warren Hamilton, 77, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 9, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Sabina Vaughan Warren. She was a former employee of Appalachian Power Company and retired from Northside Middle School as an instructional aide. Mrs. Hamilton loved children. She taught the first grade Sunday School Class at Melrose Baptist Church for many years. She also taught Vacation Bible School and was a member of the SALT/LAAF group (the senior adult ministry) at the churc)h . Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Norris C. Hamilton, sons, Scott B. Hamilton and wife Shaun; Neil A. Hamilton and wife Molly; grandchildren, Zachary F. Hamilton, Sarah E. Hamilton, Nathan Hamilton, Ava L. McClung, and Andrew C. Hamilton all of Roanoke; brother, Charlie Warren and wife Sandy of Lenoir City, Tennessee; sisters, Jean Warren Puckett and husband Richard of Palm Coast, Florida; Peggy Warren Slusher and husband Ken of Lynchburg; sister in law, Betty Thompson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin Eugene Hamilton and wife Mary of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Melrose Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott B. Hamilton and the Rev. Larry E. Sprouse. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm to 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
