Obituary of Angelina Cicchetti

Please share a memory of Angelina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Angelina Maria Colangelo Cicchetti, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Roanoke, Virginia, after a long illness. Angie was born in Waterbury, CT on March 12, 1927 to Domenica Maria (LaBella) and Rocco Colangelo. She attended Leavenworth High School where she met and married the love of her life, Daniel Cicchetti. They remained happily married for 63 years, raised two daughters and enjoyed retirement life as grandparents of two beautiful granddaughters. Angie is survived by her husband Dan, daughters Nannette Borling and Danielle Cicchetti, son in law, Jim Borling, granddaughters Kiersten Butler and Krista Borling, and grandson-in-law Chris Butler. She is also survived by her sisters Antoinette Meccariello and Jennie Boisvert and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear to her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Vito, Daniel, and Frankie, and he sister, Catherine. Angie was a gentle light in this sometimes dark world. Her kindness and warmth won her the deep devotion of her family and friends. She welcomed all into her home, fed them a cup of wisdom and a bowl of pasta. She had a passion for life, for family and for cooking. Known for her culinary talents, Angie created the most delicious dishes from the simplest of ingredients. Her recipe for life and cooking was the same: "the more you put in, the more you find". Angie clearly put in her "all" for the past 85 years. We are left with wonderful memories and a legacy of smart, tenacious women who have Angie to thank for their upbringing. Whatever we called you, thank you "Gingie", "Mom", "Noni", "Aunt Angie", "Auntie Go-Go" for your love. We will forever cherish you. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association. Friends may send their condolences to the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
