Elmer Gene Webb, 71, of Roanoke passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 after a brief illness. He rtiered from Norfolk Southern Railroad after more that thiry years of service and enjoyed listening to blue grass music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Lettie Webb and a brother, Carter Webb and his wife Delores. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Rachel Webb; daughters, Pamela Blankenship and husband Ronnie; and Tina Webb; a special grandson, Mitchell Webb Blankenship; brother Don Webb and wife Gale; sister, Gatha Radford and serveral nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff on 6 West at Lewis Gale Medical Center for their excellent care and concern. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Jay Fields. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
