Richard E. "Ricky" Crowder, 58, of Troutville went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Ricky retired from Consolidated Freightways and at the time of his death he was employed by Hoppe Industries. He was a member of Teamsters Local # 171. Ricky was an avid motorcycleist having traveled all over the United States and Canada. Surviving are his daughter, Rebecca Patterson of Ridgeway, Va.; grandchildren, Myka, Bryson and Cyera Patterson; Mom and Dad, Lottie and Clyde Crowder of Daleville; brother, Jamie Crowder of Roanoke; best friend, Dennis Wall of Troutville; cousin, Gary Newman; and friends too numerous to mention. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Troutville Rescue Squad or to a charity of the donors choice. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Daleville Cemetery by the Rev. Troy Mays. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday from noon until 1:30 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. 366-0707
